How it works

1Snap. Magnets pull blocks together the right way round — polarity marks on every block.
2Power. Add the battery block. If it's wired right, it works. If not, the mistake indicator shows where.
3Debug. Nothing breaks when you're wrong — components are protected. Fix it, try again.

Is it right for your child?

8–14The sweet spot. Base projects solo from 8; Pro logic clicks around 11–12.
6–8Works with a grown-up alongside. Consider Base alone first (€79.99) — add Boost and Pro later, same blocks.
AdultGenuinely useful for filling an electronics gap. Add the wooden board.
Honest bit: 300 projects is a lot. Most families do 20–40 in the first month, then start inventing their own.

about labbox

From classrooms to your table

Labbox was started by sisters Arta and Fiona Shehu, computer-science engineers who taught thousands of students at jCoders Academy — and kept seeing the same thing: a circuit only clicks when it is real. Not simulated, not on a screen. Something has to light up.

The blocks came first: 30+ magnetic electronic components that snap together with polarity marks and protected parts, so a wrong build can't hurt anyone or anything. The kits and games grew out of them, co-developed and manufactured with Hape, one of the world's largest educational-toy makers. Labbox is based in Frankfurt and ships across nine European countries.

Frequently asked questions

Do the blocks work with the other products?
Yes — every Labbox block shares the same magnetic connectors, polarity marks and protected components. Game blocks work in kits and vice versa.
Is it hard to get started?
The first circuit takes about two minutes with the manual. Pro logic projects genuinely take thought — that's the point. Every project has a video if you get stuck.
Can I buy individual blocks or replacements?
That's the plan — see Blocks & accessories. Unpriced items take a notify-me until pricing is final.
Is it safe? What about batteries?
Components are protected, so a wrong circuit can't damage anything or anyone. The battery block encloses its cells; no exposed contacts.
Which language is the manual in?
Choose EN, DE, ES, FR or IT above — one product, five manuals, not five products.

One block system. Every box plugs into the last.
